You stood outside Makishima’s cell deciding whether coming there was a good idea or not. You walked inside making your decision. You sat down across from Makishima and noticed he was asleep. You waited for him to wake up. You looked at his hands and noticed he had handcuffs on both wrists. You also noticed that he had scars criss-crossing his hands. You were looking at his hand when you noticed that he was looking at you. You looked away from him then looked back at him and noticed he was smiling at you.
“Well what did you want Makishima?” you said to him as you sat down across from him again.
“I was just wondering when I am getting out of here.” Makishima replied looking at you.
“You aren’t getting out of here unless you decide not to do anything that will harm someone else. If that’s all you wanted to talk about I’ll be going now.” you replied looking at him before you walked toward the door.
“Wait how is your brother doing?” Makishima said as he struggled against the handcuffs. An image of your brother’s limp body in your arms popped into you head.
“He’s dead. Goodbye Makishima.” You said walking out the door.
“Wait please wait.” you heard Makishima say behind you as he struggled against the handcuffs. You looked at him one more time as the door closed behind you before you turned around and walked away. You drove back to the office and began working on some cases you hadn’t gotten two. You left early and went back to the apartment. When you got there, you found Ginoza making supper. Nick was watching him. You ate with them and then went to bed. Life went on as normal. You helped Ginoza with his cases and the two of you continued to catch criminals. Nick went to college. Ginoza and you were happy until you lost him in the line of duty. You left along with Nick soon after his funeral. The two of you left heading for a new place. As the two of you left, you both said goodbye to Kogami and the others. It was hard at first to say goodbye but you two didn’t feel like you both truly belong without Ginoza beside all of you. You and Nick left heading for a place where both of you wouldn’t be recognized by anyone.
